Praise be to Jesus Christ!
Our Daddy, Mr. Joseph Narikunnel, was father George’s close friend and classmate. Many years ago, they met each other by chance and father invited us to join in his social activities. We accepted the invitation gladly and thus got the opportunity to be part of his great work. Fr George, who took care and protected us, is the light of our family and our hearts. For so many years we were with father having the privilege to enjoy his care and affection throughout our life journey. Our Dad left us to be with the Lord, leaving our care in fathers hands. Father cared for us the same way even in our Daddy’s absence.We believe our Daddy is watching over us from heaven and interceding for us and the great work of Achan.
Fathers love, hard work, faith in God, simple lifestyle and empathy towards the poor and the spirit to fight for justice have greatly influenced and motivated us. He guided us in the roles of both a loving father and a spiritual godfather. We were able to mingle with a wide range of people all over the world and learn many valuable life lessons through his guidance. We acquired priceless morals and values in our lives and God made us an instrument to impart it to many others who are around us. The result of all these is our lifestyle and our contributions to people around. Our business is in a good shape now because of Achans blessings, guidance and support. We are able to offer job to a number of people and thus uplifting their families too.
When challenges and problems come in life, Achan taught us how to tackle them effectively and go forward in life. He motivates us by saying, you can do 1000 times better than this, so that the best output will come out of us.
Father gives the first place to serving mankind. Protecting the destitute, serving the sick, burying the dead and open ways to educating the underprivileged children. Achan’s attitude towards poor is that fascinates us the most. He shares even his own food and footwear if he finds someone needy on the way. Father foresees things and execute accordingly so that his plans are executed well in the long run. Thousands of people have benefited as a result of this.
He is very focused on educating the underprivileged children. His view is that if at least a single child, is educated, the whole village is saved through him. With this aim in mind, he works hard day and night, even though the situation around is unfavouable. Lack of money or legal issues never held him back from leaping towards this goal. We learned and experienced Agape love from Father.
Father takes care of his foster children with utmost love and affection , at the same time strict and stern when needed, so as to make sure they grow in Grace and wisdom. Special attention is given to their food habits and makes sure that they eat healthy which in turn contributes to their physical and mental well being.He lives a very simple life but focuses on providing luxury to the underprivileged people around him. Age, Religion, Language or background of the needy person is not a barrier for his selfless love towards them. We feel so blessed to be with him in these and thus being a shelter and support to many people.
He is a person who sees serving others as prayer . He taught us the value of food and explained us the miseries of those who struggle for at least one meal a day.He taught us how to make the best out of what is considered as waste. We are so blessed to be a part in his social work from very young age, and this made us understand and deal with people from various backgrounds.Gods Grace has flown immensely on me and my family during these long years of social service with Father.
Fr George follows St. Isidore(patron saint of farmers, peasants,day labourers) and St. Joseph’s (patron saint of families, workers, expecting mothers and unborn children) spirituality. Achan is the son of a great farmer who worked hard till his last days. Son follows the same passion of hard work even during this 75th year.He often insists ‘ Work is Worship ‘ and shows the same by his own example. Father works hard in the hot sun and rain even in this 75th year which mirrors how Jesus became bread and wine to the mankind with his sufferings.He is a priest living in multi dimensions.He becomes the head for a family without a support, a Christ to the oppressed and a brother to the people in need and many more.
We got the privilege to visit Servant of God Mar Mathew Kavukatt’s (Father’s paternal uncle ) birthplace and pray in the divine presence. We feel blessed to have the walking stick of Servant Of God Mar Mathew Kavukatt in our safekeeping, which is passed over to Chachan and then to Father. We keep that sacred and holy as Moses and Aarons Rod.
According to us, Father is a great missionary tree and we thank God Almighty to have allowed us to become a small twig and thus serve humanity and in turn God Almighty himself.
On this special day, may God’s grace shine upon you just as your guidance has illuminated our lives.We pray to God almighty for Achan’s sound health and long life and to let us continue to work with Father in his great work for many more blessed years. Happy Birthday dear Father!
