A heart similar to Saint Joseph’s

My Name is Tazin Sayyad. We are a small family of 4 people which included my brother Saji and two other sisters,Zabin’s and Amrin. I am the eldest.

Suffering from T.B, my mother left us for heaven in 2002. My father, being a chronic alchoholic, did not fulfill his family responsibilities. It was then father George gave the reference of an orphanage to one of our neighbour woman. So she took and kept me and another sister there. Sajid, was only four years old, and he was having a hole in the heart and was also suffering from TB. So Father George took him to his hometown to get him recovered and did everything for him on his own with the support of the family of father George. My 3rd sister was only 2 years old that time she was looked after by the neighbour woman, and she was not keeping her at one place as she was having to go on work. Every time she was, being kept by someone or the other.

Father George having a heart similar to that of Saint Joseph, recognised that girls shall be protected very well without being harmed by anyone. In a way father George fought with the woman claiming the right of my sister. Thus she could study with us for her well-being. Father took her and he brought her to the same orphanage where we were studying. So she could get along with us as well.

Father used to visit us every time whenever he was in Mumbai. He used to bring small stationary things for us and kept us very happy, more than our parents would have. Like this we three sisters, finished our academic years in Maa Niketan (helpers of Mary) orphanage for girls in Thane. Sajid also finished his academic years and he also started working.

Now I am happily married and working in Reliance as assistant manager. The remaining three of them are also working. All these got possible only because of Father George. We thank you father for all the love care and support. Because of you, we have become something in life. I pray on this day that we want to spend more time with you in the coming years. Still, a lot to learn from you.

We want to become a confident person like you. You are our hero, our teacher, our inspiration. You have always supported us like a parents in every walk of life. Thank you so much father and once again wish you many many happy returns of the day. Happy 75th birthday father.
