Life of G. Kavukatt
George Kavukatt was born on 4 march 1950 at Kadanad, in the Palai diocese.
His parents were Joseph and Mary of Kavukatt family and he was baptised by Rev Fr Thomas Paremmakal.
He had the primary education at St George’s Primary School, Geovalley, Pala and Secondary at St. Augustine’s School, Kadnad. He passed SSLC in 1968.
He then chose to become a missionary priest and with that intention joined at St Joseph’s Mission home in 1968. However a year later in 1969 he joined MST to become a missionary for the Syro Malabar Church. He completed the minor seminary course at Good Shepherd seminary, Pala and joined for Philosophy course at St Thomas Apostolic seminary, Vadavathoor, Kottayam. After an year of regency at Barnagar and Nagda in Ujjain Diocese, he reached back to Vadvathoor to fulfill his theological studies.
He was ordained priest on 1st March, 1978.
